What We Do

BCARC is dedicated to improving workplace health and safety in the BC restoration construction industry.

BCARC is currently focusing its full attention on the matter of improving the sector's workplace injury rates. The strategies which BCARC will employ to deliver continuous improvement in workplace safety include:

  • a New Worker safety education program
  • a certification system of health and safety training that will evolve as career responsibilities develop
  • a results-based system for measuring and reporting of injury rates.

BCARC will be tactical in addressing its injury reduction mandate. Because the core business of our members is restoration construction, our Association will work with proven educational partners in the development and implementation of appropriate H & S programs. As a non-profit organization, our focus is improving workplace safety in the most efficient and effective manner.

BCARC will work closely with WorkSafeBC and other like-minded entities in order to seek 'best practices' in H & S matters.

Health and Safety training matters will continuously intersect with the technical aspects of job performance (eg, operating power tools ); where effective and efficient to do so, BCARC will provide concurrent technical and safety training.
